Alex and Ani was founded by designer Carolyn Rafaelian over 10 years ago. Raised in a family of jewelers, Rafaelian has always been in her element, surrounding herself with metals, beads, and stones. She took that passion and created a new company, named for two of her daughters, in hopes that she could help women -- and men -- feel as empowered by jewelry as she did.
