La Mer Collections was established in 2001 when Martine Ilana rummaged through her jewelry drawer and could not find a simple, stylish and feminine watch to wear. Combining her passion for design, love of quality materials and simple beauty, La Mer Collections was born. La Mer Collections inspiration is drawn from Martine Ilanas jouneys: South Africas colorful markets, Balis lush flowers, Italys gorgeous leathers and Thailands clear blue ocean. Each season La Mers color palette is chosen from these bright and colorful experiences.

The focus of La Mer Collections style is on classic and simple watch faces designed exclusively by Martine Ilana, which are then paired with beautiful leather straps and chain details. La Mer Collections design studio is located in Venice Beach, California - only one black away from the beach and all of La Mer Collections leather wrap watch styles are hand assembled and manufactured in the United States. Each componant that makes up a La Mer Collections watch, is created from scratch: the watch straps start as hides of leather and are assmbled into the straps which customers then recognize. For all of La Mer Collections Chain and Charm styles, each piece begins from spools of gold and silver chains, raw charms and then they are assembled by hand to each timepieces design.
